In honor of World Environment Day’s #beatplasticpollution campaign, check the bottom of your plastics for recycling labels – plastics with a 1 and 2 are universally recyclable, and most places take plastics 5 and 6. More than 400 million tonnes of plastic is produced every year worldwide, half of which is designed to be used only once. Of that, less than 10 percent is recycled. You can improve this statistic by committing to recycling this month.
